Important notes for cherry season:
Cherry Packing: The cherry season starts off slowly in early December with Japanese cherries. Around 30-40 females are required from this time in the packing shed which is located only walking distance from the hostel. So for females who wish our help getting an hourly paid packing job, it is recommended that you check-in to the hostel in late November/early December.
Cherry Picking: Cherries need to ripen before they are picked and this is very weather dependent but the picking usually starts around the last week of December. You will need to attend a health and safety induction before being offered a job. These inductions are usually held in on farm from mid-December. So if you need our help getting a job you will need to be checked in to the hostel before these inductions are held.
NOTE: Get in early! Accommodation is usually booked out by mid December. It is no use arriving looking for work in January as most farms will have already sorted and inducted their work force in December.
